My mom bought this old jewellery box from Value Village and gave it to me to fix it up. I ended up sitting on this project for about a year until my mom forgot about it (not purposely, I just lacked the motivation). I ended up using some left over supplies I had when I re-did my kitchen cabinets in 2011 and gave it to my mom last year for her birthday. She was trilled with how it turned out!
What a amazing feeling it was to visit my old high school today only to still see a painting I did on a door of a classroom that's still there! This definitely gets me inspired to work on something new!
Making a souvenir is much more meaningful!
This year I went to Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. The morning before the festival a huge street party is held called "Jouvert" to ring in Carnival day. Caribbean music is played while everyone dances throwing paint and mud everywhere without a care in the world! It was one of greatest experiences of my life - jumping around, expressing myself with paint, not caring what I looked like.... simply being a kid again. I wanted to make something special to remember this experience so I kept the shirts we wore and decided to make a frame out of it.
Best Christmas Gift Ever!
My friend decided to make me a unique wreath since she had a lot of wine corks that she has been saving for the past 5 years! Since she knows that I love to create stuff too, we ended up making it together. Thanks BB!
I found my high school sketchbook!
After going through my old closet at my mom's place, found my sketchbook from high school. I was so excited to see it and see how much progress I have made from then. High school was when drawing grew from just a hobby to my passion which is why this sketchbook is so important to me.
Landscape Design
With a background in Architecture, I was hired to do a landscape layout for one of my clients for a resort in Jasper, Florida - Florida Gateway Resort. Check out his page!
1st Birthday Present for my Niece
Other than painting and drawing, I also like to take on arts and crafts. Here is a frame I created for my niece's 1st birthday in 2007. I cut out her name from matting material and used photos of her in each letter.
Pinstriping Project
I was hired to do a pinstriping on a motorcycle. After a few DIY youtube videos, and VERY steady hands, I was able to come up with something he was pleased with.
Granny's 75th Birthday Gift
It was finished in a wide black matte and I had the rest of my family sign around it. The best part was seeing her reaction!
Wall Art - Progress Photos
When two friends of mine found out that they were about to have a baby girl, I was honoured when that asked me to paint something for her room! Check out the progress photos...
